Secure meaningful action for animals in Scotland’s national plan

Every September, the Scottish Government sets out the priorities for the coming years, and the actions it will take in the year ahead. We cannot allow animals to be overlooked.

This is your opportunity to make their voices heard — to urge the Scottish Government to include clear, meaningful commitments for animals in this year’s Programme for Government.

Take this action to send an email to the Scottish Government, calling on them to commit to:

  • Ending the use of farrowing cages, which cause immense suffering to mother pigs caged in them
  • Tackling the animal welfare crisis caused be the trade in and keeping of wild animals as 'exotic pets'
  • Updating welfare and wildlife laws, which are not strong enough to prevent harm to wild animals, such as the guga hunt
